The Official AEAS Test Preparation Course

How does the Official AEAS Test Preparation Course work?

The AEAS Test Preparation Course is designed to assist students to prepare to sit the AEAS Test

This 30 hour course includes five modules (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, Vocabulary) and is delivered face to face or online.

The course can be delivered 1 to 1, 1 to 2 or in small groups.

There are different curricula for Years 10-12, Years 7-9, and Years 4-6 based on Australian academic year levels. Click here to view a Country, Age and Year Level Conversion table.

The course is suitable for international students intending to study abroad and students enrolling in international schools.

What skills will students develop?

The Official AEAS Test Preparation Course is designed to actively develop English language ability across the skills of reading, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, listening and speaking. An important element of this course is to teach students the skills necessary to successfully prepare for any test or exam. It familiarises students with the structure of the AEAS test, with test taking, review and feedback of each of the five components of the English language test.

The Official AEAS Test Preparation Course introduces students to the English language and general learning and teaching approaches they will encounter in a western classroom as in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA or an English medium international school in any country. At the same time, the course focuses on building the skills necessary to study, review and sit the AEAS English language proficiency test. These test taking skills are important life skills that students will use throughout their academic years.

Key Features

When should I study the Official AEAS Test Preparation Course?

How is the Official AEAS Test Preparation Course structured?

The Official AEAS Test Preparation Course consists of five modules.  Students can choose to study a stand alone module, a full set of modules or mix and match modules. This enables the course to be tailored to the individual needs of each student. It is recommended students complete the five modules to gain maximum benefit.

The course covers skills across the English language strands of reading, writing, speaking, listening and vocabulary with content relevant to the year level of the group.

A practice test is conducted upon completion of each module to allow students to familiarise themselves with the AEAS test components, see their progress and provide an opportunity for individualised plans for improvement.  The course does not focus on memorisation through repeated mock tests or pre preparing standardised responses. The focus is on genuine learning and skill development.

Years 4 to 6

Years 7 to 9

In the Years 7-9 curriculum, students develop English language skills relevant to the module they are enrolled in. They will actively participate in discussions, projects and reflections on their learning.

Each module is completed with the appropriate AEAS practice test for the English component they have studied.

This ensures students become familiar with the AEAS Test structure, and also provides them with an indication of their level of English language proficiency in each sub segment of the test.

Years 10 to 12

In the Years 10-12 curriculum, students build on existing language knowledge and explore new skills and strategies for learning and being tested in English.

The modules extend each student’s ability to write, read, listen and speak with close reference to the western education system.

Students are taught the important skills to improve study and organisation in preparation for the AEAS Test.
